Wodehouse If we all had time, I could give you a thousand reasons why I love Addington, and as I cast out the last of those, I’d think of another thousand I’d missed. The history, the drama. The endless, hilarious stories, and a cast of eccentric characters, including several peacocks. One could relay Addington’s history in real time and it would not drag for an instant, would never cease to surprise.
One has to say all of The Addington Par 3s are special, and all very different. The Third was highly praised by, was it, Henry Longhurst? The Seventh is a further surprise after the Wodehouse bunker, with its private view over the surrounding 'country'. The drama of the Thirteenth with its Augustan valley and memories of the rhododendra's visual assault. And finally, the chasm of the Seventeenth, a hard hole in anyone's round.
The Addington is a special place and I look forward to seeing the changes this year
In the old days it was virtually unplayable!

Wonderful column. I have to find a way to get to these courses to play.
