We’re in Trehuel Number Five, one of many luxurious apartments at Trevose Golf & Country Club, and a serious upgrade on my normal camper van slumber. After 54 holes the previous day, I don’t exactly spring from this comfortable mattress, but a shower batters me into life, a warm up for the rain that is forecast. I can hear a blustery wind whipping through the car park, and as the light starts to reveal the golf course through the vast windows of our lounge, I pull on my kit, and head for the door.
What a gorgeous & wonderful place for golf. Had no idea about Trevose, but (as usual) the writing pulls me in to further enjoyment of your discoveries & reflections. Great story about the surprise & wonder realized through chance encounters. 6:00am tee time and a 3 hour walk with my golf clubs & a friend are to be cherished!!!
Ahh the days of Peter Gammon living at Rashers and Gary Aliss in the pro shop. A wondrous place to learn golf and how to behave in a bar! The new year's day competition with three clubs and a putter, when fortunately there wasn't a halfway house. I think I holed the ball a couple of times before the green. (Rabbit dwellings )
