I’m thankful for your birthday as well as your gift for words and that you’re able to put these gift years,(💦)to good use. You know what I mean 😉. 🙏

This brought a tear to my eye, John. Kindred spirit! Here's to more golf together in the spring, Sir!

Hi Richard,

A very belated birthday! 50?! And as others have noted, you could have fooled me. Thank goodness we've become smitten with a game that can be played well past the peak of our physical powers -- but, hopefully, while our appreciation for all it has to offer continues to mature. Thank you for reminding us of that every week. It is no small thing.

Cheers,

Dan

Dear Richard, Glad to read of your affection for Pennard. DMW and I played there about 20-25 years ago and after reading your essay I long to return. It is hardly known in the US, but it is a gem for sure! Best, TJ

I didn’t realise your milestone birthday was fast approaching when we played at New Zealand on Monday, Happy Birthday and you certainly don’t look it. I must try and get to Pennard with Sean or another friend who is a member next year.
