What an inspiring image. Golf is so much more than just golf - "building connections and memories, and being present" - exactly so. I have never read On the Road either - nothing against Kerouac, it's just that many years ago, in a competition to win the girl, a rival made much of his love of this book. I won but have kept a distance from Kerouac ever since - time I got over it :D
