A wonderful collaboration, you both bring magic to your writings. There are 2 wheel golf vehicles that folks are using I’ve seen pics of. Love walking the course though, like my feet on the ground, kind of like 2 wheels on the road I suspect.

I haven’t been on a motorcycle since I parted company with an Yamaha rd50 aged 16. Ended up with blue tarmac rash buttocks for months as my jeans, or the dye from them, became embedded in the skin. Ill equipped and ill prepared. My late mum made me promise never to get on one again.I didn’t. Loved driving at speed but always needed a wheel at each corner! However, the golfing obsession has over the years provided me with some subliminal and uplifting experiences and interactions. Scores don’t matter, the people do is always my mantra. Great read .

So, Richard, there really ARE others out there like us! Thanks for inspiring Robin (as you have me) to share his lovely and resonating insights about the game. As for motorcycles, I’ll have to take his word for it. The closest I can come to that is the happy hours I spent bonding with my Mazda MX-5 (aka Miata) in the States. But golf? Too much is written about the chosen few who play it for a living. Far too little about the masses who play it for life...in all the meanings of that phrase. Thank you, Robin, for doing what you can to help balance the scales.

Splendid! Never had a hankering for motor bikes myself, my Honda 50 for commuting to work as a 16 year old was no enticement to greater machines. Four wheels for me was about access to distant ambitions, not speed. But I’ve added Warkworth to my ‘bucket list’ - and am sharing this piece with some 2-wheel friends!
